Lazar Stojanović was born in 1944 in Belgrade. After his first feature film „Plastic Jesus“ was banned, he was imprisoned for three years. After being released, he worked as a journalist and produced several theatre plays. Stojanović lately became an American citizen. He is still active as a filmmaker shooting documentaries, e.g. „Almost Serbs“ on Gipsy life in Serbia produced by B 92 (1999) and consulting documentary productions like „On the edge of Europe“ (2005) on the Kosovo subject. |
