Adrian Țofei was born in Rădăuți, Romania on July 20, 1987. After seeing 2001: A Space Odyssey and taking acting classes in adolescence, Adrian left behind his passion for physics and started researching film history and performing in high school plays. He went on to study Ion Cojar‘s method acting under Mircea Gheorghiu at Lower Danube University and continued with a master’s degree in drama/acting at Spiru Haret University of Bucharest. Between 2008 and 2012 Adrian directed, produced, wrote and performed in various plays, most notably The Monster one-man-show. He also wrote about acting.
In the beginning of 2013 Adrian Țofei put an end to his theatre career and moved from Bucharest to his hometown Rădăuți to make Be My Cat: A Film for Anne, his first film and Romania’s first found footage horror movie. He worked for two years on the project as the movie’s lead actor, director, producer, writer and editor, and has been selected with it at 2015 Fantasporto International Film Festival in Portugal and 2015 TIFF – Transilvania International Film Festival. |
