Alexandru was born in 1980 in Brasov, Romania. Graduated from Bucharest Film Academy in 2007 and got an MA in Political Science from University of Bucharest in 2012. Worked as 1st AD for directors such as Corneliu Porumboiu & Cristian Mungiu and was the director of numerous social TV campaigns. Director of several short films, both fiction and documentary, including short documentary "the Sound Of Mountains" screened at Berlinale IFF and short documentary "Rebel Rebel", which had its international premiere at Visions du Réel IFF in 2010. His debut documentary feature "8th Of March" was nominated for the 2012 Silver Eye Award and screened at the European FF in Bucharest, Media Wave IFF Hungary, Transilvania IFF Cluj-Napoca, Making Waves New York and awarded as Best Documentary at Fine Art FF Szolnok.
