Bakur Bakuradze was born on March 16, 1969 in Tbilisi, Georgian SSR, USSR. He is a director and writer, known for Shultes (2008), The Hunter (2011) and Moscow (2007). He enrolled in the directors' department at the VGIK, the film school in Moscow. In 2005, his documentary The Diamond Way garnered an award. After directing several short films and documentaries, he made his first feature film, Shultes, in 2008. The Hunter is his second feature. His first feature film 'Shultes' was screened at the Cannes Film Festival in program Quinzaine des Realisateurs, won the Grand Prix at Kinotavr in Sochi. His second feature film 'The Hunter' was selected for the program Un certain regard at Cannes Film Festivals and won the Best Directing and Best Actress at Kinotavr film festival and Grandprix of Minsk Film Festival. |
