Ursula Meier was born in Besançon, France, in 1971. French-Swiss, studied at the IAD in Belgium. The success of her shorts enabled her to pursue an independent career. After the documentaries Around Pinget and Not the Cops, not the Blacks, not the Whites, she directed Strong Shoulders, a TV film for ARTE which met with great acclaim. Home, her cinema début, premiered at the Cannes Film Festival Critics’ Week in 2008 and received awards at many film festivals. She wrote her film Sister for young Kacey Mottet Klein, Isabelle Huppert’s son in Home. Sister received a Silver Bear Special Award at the 2012 Berlin Film Festival. |
