China Åhlander started off as a documentary filmmaker. Her film CLOSE TO THE SOIL (2001) was awarded Best Documentary at the Aspen Film Festival. China Åhlander has been in the film business since 1985 and has worked in almost every department in the film production process, mainly as a location manager, production manager and FAD in both Swedish and international feature film productions. As a producer China Åhlander works very closely with her directors and the scripts and is fully committed throughout the whole creative process. China Åhlander also gives lectures at the university of Lund and in different Swedish film schools, focusing on the film production process, with a special interest in the working environmental issues. China Åhlander is the CEO of her own production company, Chinema Film Sweden AB. |
