Tomas Leyers founded his production company Djeeni in 1993, specialising in videos for events and corporate films. He has produced (and still produces) numerous publicity and corporate films for international clients like Coca-Cola, Siemens, Mobistar, as well as several shorts on film and HD like the award-winning THE DIFFERENCE and ALL ABOUT CHEESE, directed by Hans Herbots. In addition, Tomas has built up an impressive track record of artistic direction and production on some of the biggest live events in Belgium in recent years. Since film has always been his first love, he decided three years ago to launch a new Brussels-based production outfit Minds Meet together with filmmaker Caroline Strubbe in order to focus on the creation of artistic international European cinema and the creative direction of unique live TV shows. Tomas attendet EAVE's 2006 workshops where he is developed Caroline Strubbe's feature debut LOST PERSONS AREA. The project received backing from the Flemish Film Fund VAF and was produced in 2007. Minds Meet is also developing LISA IN THE CITY, a 'fait divers" feature by Strubbe, and a personal documentary called 'HOBOKEN, HOBOKEN' about two small towns next to a big city. |
