Ivaylo Penchev was born in 1960 in Sofia. He received his master degree in Cinematography in 1982 from the All-Russian State University of Cinematography (VGIK), Moscow. He works as producer, screenwriter and DoP for a number of documentaries, TV shows and commercials. He made his feature directorial debut with Tough Old Men (2011).
