Hungarian-German director, cinematographer and producer. Born in 1964 in West Berlin. He studied painting, music, philosophy, comparative religion and theatre sciences and worked at different theatres as a director’s assistant before he began his studies in directing and cinematography at the German Film & TV Academy Berlin (dffb) in 1989. He graduated as a director and as a cinematographer. For his graduation film "Fate" he received the German National Film Award in 1995. Since that time, he has made a number of films and videos and collaborated as cinematographer with several directors, like Joseph Pitchhadze, Béla Tarr, Rudolf Thome, Gariné Torossian. Since 2000 he has directed several plays in Germany. He teaches workshops and classes at institutions all over the world. "Sarajevo Songs Of Woe" is his latest film. |
