Petros Charalambous was born in Nicosia in 1976. His early exposure to photography, theater and art, as well as his need for emotional and visual expression led him to Hollywood where he studied film and television directing at the California State University, Los Angeles. His work experience in USA includes a year at CNN/DNEW in Los Angeles. In 2000 he came back to Cyprus, where he taught television production at the Frederick University. At the same time he was working for Lumiere Services as a film director, until 2008.
Since then, he works as a freelancer film director shooting mainly commercials, corporate videos, music videos, narratives and documentaries. Some of the commercials he directed were shortlisted for several advertising competitions.
His short film “The Escape of the Queen” attended a lot of film festivals all over the world winning awards and distinctions.
He also directed several TV shows and live performances.
Among others, in 2008 he directed the opera “Epitafios”, the short film “Voices” and currently completed the feature documentary “The Fire Within”.

It was also accepted at the Medimed Euromediterranean Doc Market, Spain, October 2011, the DocFest in Halkida-Greece, October 2011 and the 3rd Cypriot Director’s Festival, November 2011.
