Born in 1961, Stienette Bosklopper set up her Amsterdam-based film production company Circe Films at the beginning of the 1990s and initially operated in the field of children's television, although feature film production are now the company's main activity.

The lead actor Ramsey Nasr subsequently won the Silver Dolphin as Best Actor for his performance at the Troia International Film Festival in 1999.
Stienette followed this in 2000 with Nanouk Leopold's directorial debut ILES FLOTTANTES which was selected for the 2001 Tiger Award Competition at the Rotterdam International Film Festival and was screened at many international film festivals including Karlovy Vary, Pusan and Sao Paolo.

In 2007 Nanouk Leopold's feature WOLFSBERGEN, which was presented at the CineMart in Rotterdam in 2003, was selected for the Forum of New Cinema at the Berlinale 2007 and the Toronto International Film Festival. In this film three generations of a family receive a letter from 83-year old pater familias Konraad that he wants to stop living, which forces them to take stock of their own lives.
In 2008 Stienette will release CALIMUCHO by Eugenie Jansen, the winner of a Tiger Award in 2002 for SLEEPING ROUGH (Tussenland). She also works on NOW SHE YELLS, a feature film by Esther Rots, whose two shorts were both selected for Cannes, and on Nanouk Leopold's upcoming international feature BROWNIAN MOVEMENT.
