Stathis Athanasiou after completing his studies in Medicine, went on to study Animation and then Film Direction. He has studied at the New York Film Academy in London and was invited at the 3rd Berlinale Talent Campus. He has received various awards for his films in many international film festivals (New York, Mar del Plata, Saint Petersburg, Barcelona, Buenos Aires, Athens, Corinth, Patras, Los Angeles a.o.), and for his television commercials in Greece. He is working as a freelance director in Athens, directing for cinema, theatre and advertising since 2000.
