Dalibor Matanic (Zagreb, 1975) holds a degree in Film and Television Directing from the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb. After shooting several short subjects, he made his award-winning feature debut Cashier Wants to Go to the Seaside in 2000. His filmography includes 6 feature films and several shorts, screened at many international film festivals. For example, his feature Kino Lika and his short Tulum, filmed right before Mother of Asphalt, were screened at 60 international film festivals and received 25 film awards.
Mother of Asphalt, written by Tomislav Zajec and Dalibor Matanic, was awarded best script at Thessaloniki’s Balkan Film Fund in 2009. The film premiered at national film festival in Pula in July 2010, winning Golden Arena for the best actress. Mother of Asphalt won Grand prix, Best actress award and Best original soundtrack award at FIPA in Biarritz 2011.
Dalibor is a member of European Film Academy (EFA).
