Costas Sfikas was born in Athens in 1927 and started his carrier as a self-taught director in the age of 34. During his entire carrier Sfikas remained incompatible while using the most original means in his movies. Apart from directing he also used to translate Dante and Balzac, something that fueled his cinematographic vision. In 2004, with initiative of Theo Aggelopoulos, a retrospective of his work was held in the Thessaloniki International Film Festival. |
