Ognjen Svilicic was born in Split, Croatia in 1971 and studied Film Directing in the Academy of Performing Arts in Zagreb. 

He has directed three feature films as well as several shorts and TV films. His film Wish I Were a Shark won the Critics Award at the Pula FF. Sorry for Kung Fu has been screened worldwide, while it won the Grand Prix at the Warsaw FF, among others.
