Veljko Despotovic was born in 1931, in Zagreb (Yugoslavia).  He finished elementary school, high school and universityIn Belgrade and in 1958 was graduated from the School of Architecture of the Belgrade University and continued with his set-designing activity.
From 1950 until 1962 he was working as assistant of art
department and architect in theatre, film and television.
From 1962, he works as independent domestic and foreign
film set designer. He has done over 150 domestic and foreign
movies and co-productions.
Veljko Despotovic is one of the most prominent movie and television production designers in Serbia.
