Kristina Tomova was born in 1978 in Sofia. She graduated in Illustration and Graphic Arts in the class of prof. Rumen Scorchev and prof. Nikolay Maistorov. Since 2002 she participated in graphics biennales and tiennales: First International Graphics Exhibition (2002), XXII International Graphics Biennale in Varna (2003), project for contemporary Bulgarian and Japanese graphics (2003), International Graphics Triennale, Krakow (2006), National Competition for young artists of St. Cyril and St. Methodius International Foundation (2007). In 2003 she won Second Prize for Young Artist of St. Cyril and St. Methodius International Foundation. Kristina illustrated Ivan Markov’s novel Eleven wooden streets and the collector’s edition Love poetry by Damian Damianov.
As it seems, the Visual Arts were not enough for her and she started working in film as Costume Designer and Asstistan to the Art Director. She has worked in Bulgarian feature films, foreign productions, music videos and commercials, as well as TV shows such as Dancing with the Stars and VIP Dance. Among the films she has worked on are: Secrets of Mary Magdalene – 2006 (dir. Rob Fruchman), Monkeys in Winter – 2006 (dir. Milena Andonova), Investigation – 2006 (dir. Iglika Trifonova), Christmas Tree Upside Down – 2006 (dir. Ivan Cherkelov), A Farewell to Hemingway – 2008 (dir. Svetoslav Ovcharov), Sneakers – 2010 (dir. Valeri Yordanov & Ivan Vladimirov). |
