Milena Markovic was born in 1974 in Belgrade, Serbia (Yugoslavia). She studied at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts at Belgrade University. Graduated in 1998 on the basis of the play Paviljoni, which went on to enjoy great commercial success on an international basis. As well as plays Markovic also pens poetry and screenplays, including those for these award-winning feature films: SUTRA UJUTRU (2006, Main Prize Cottbus 2006) and BELI BELI SVET (White White World, 2010, Main Prize Cottbus 2010), directed by Oleg Novkovic, with whom she also worked together for the documentary RUDARSKA OPERA (2006, Cottbus 2011). |
