Adi Carauleanu was born in 1957, in Calafat and graduated the Institute of Theatrical and Cinematographic Art in Bucharest in 1981. In his 25-year career, Adi brought to life an impressive number of theater characters, over 40, had 5 supporting roles in feature films and directed 2 plays: The Cyclop by Euripides and Romeo and Juliet by W. Shakespeare. Lt. Neagu is his first important part in a feature.
First, there was the name. The "Furious" (see "Furia / The Fury") director Radu Muntean!Perfect! Then there was the script. An excellent script! The director of photography: a professional. Finally, lieutenant Neagu, an "edgy" character. He's a man of... his time! Nothing special about that. He wants to complete his mission. A... militia man.
During the shooting, I like to think that endless talks with the director (thank you!) gave birth to a warm, stupid, paternal, boastful, wise, funny, pathetic, sad, tender lieutenant.
In a "crazy crew" atmosphere, surrounded by young, lively, enthusiastic people, we filmed from dusk until dawn, almost a whole month, in difficult conditions, with long takes (six-seven pages of text sometimes!), with some small fights and good jokes, with an unnatural rhythm, with accumulated tensions, but also with the detachment that you get when you do things properly.
It was difficult and fabulous! Once more: thank you, guys!
