Rezan Yeşilbaş completed his BA in Cinema and TV Department at İstanbul Marmara University in 2008. He wrote and directed his first short film “Hüküm” (The Judgement) of his ‘Triology of Women’ in 2008. “Hüküm” competed in various international film festivals and won awards in several national festivals and the Audience Award in Boston Film Festival. Rezan Yeşilbaş worked as the executive producer and the first assistant director with the internationally acknowledged Turkish director Zeki Demirkubuz in Demirkubuz’s feature films Kıskanmak (Envy, 2008) and Yeraltı (Inside, 2012), respectively. He also worked as the executive producer for Babamın Sesi (My Father’s Voice, 2011) by Orhan Eskiköy and Zeynel Doğan, which made its world premiere in 2012 Rotterdam Film Festival competition section. Also, Yeşilbaş worked as the executive producer of  Unutma Beni İstanbul (Don’t Forget Me İstanbul, ), produced by Sevil Demirci and Hüseyin Karabey, which consists of six short films by six internationally acclaimed directors.

Rezan Yeşilbaş is the recipient of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism script development grant for his feature film project Mesafeler (Distances, 2010) and production fund for his second short film of the Triology called Sessiz / Bé Deng (Silent, 2012) which won many awards both nationally and internationally, including Best Short Film award in 8th Akbank Short Film Festival and Atıf Yılmaz Short Film Competition.

Rezan Yeşilbaş won Palme d’Or (Golden Palm) for Sessiz / Bé Deng (Silent, 2012) in 65th Cannes Film Festival, Short Film Competition in May, 2012. Sessiz / Bé Deng has also been selected nominee for the European Academy Awards, 2012 by international jury of Norwegian Short Film Festival.
