Born in Surgut, West Siberia, Isolda Dychauk has lived in Berlin since 2002. At the age of eleven she was discovered for her first short film, Gimmy Your Shoes, directed by Anika Wangard, which screened at the 2009 Vienna International Film Festival. Since 2004, Isolda has worked constantly in German film and television. Her first high-profile role was the lead Margarete in the movie Faust, directed by Alexandr Sokurov, which won the Golden Lion at the 68th Venice Film Festival. She was then cast in her first English-language part in the international TV series Borgia, in the lead role of Lucrezia. The second season began shooting in March 2012. Isolda, now 19, will appear in Tomorrow One Year, directed by Aelrun Goette. |
