Joe graduated with a BSC in Music Technology in July 2010, including a mark of 82/100 for his final year dissertation on the emotional impact of sound design in filmmaking. He also made a short CGI film, which received a first class grade for its soundtrack. The course had a very broad scope, covering the scientific, technical, creative and sociological aspects of sound. In his final year he undertook extra training to earn a supplementary professional qualification (Pro Tools 101 certification, January 2010). He has previously worked with Alexander on four short projects, mainly as the sound editor, but also composing and location recording. In addition Joe has worked on the soundtracks for other shorts produced by students at Central Film School London. Joe has a fantastic grasp of all the various elements to sound design and the technical skill to apply them. ‘The Telemachy’ is Joe’s first feature; he has managed the entire sound design from location recording to the final print master, which on a low-budget project can be the most challenging and understated part of the film. |
