While studying Maths and considering a technical career, Mihai Călin joined the high school community theatre. His acting debut is strongly related to the most prestigious Romanian theatre company, Podul (The Attic), which was a great start for most of the Romanian actors. He immediately received a leading role in Dan Pița’s Pepe and Fifi (1994). He continued his theatrical career performing on the most important Romanian stages. Mihai played supporting parts in Radu Mihăileanu’s Train de vie (1998) or Costa Gavras’s Amen (2002), but also various secondary appearances in famous fiction TV series. During the 90s, Mihai was one of the most successful TV hosts of shows like Wheel of Fortune or Jeopardy. |
