A Northern Irish actor, writer and director, Adrian Dunbar has worked extensively in film, television and theatre. Born and raised in Enniskillen, Adrian attended the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, where he now lives with his family. Film credits include My Left Foot, The General and Hear My Song, for which his own co-written screenplay was Bafta nominated. He had another starring role in the critically acclaimed The Last Confession of Alexander Pearce, and is the director of Connolly, a movie about the Irish labour union organiser James Connolly and his daughter Nora. Among his many TV appearances are a key role in the first ever episode of Cracker, playing DCI Michael Love to Ray Winstone’s DC Milton in Tough Love, and as the mysterious Martin Summers from Ashes to Ashes. As well as taking numerous stage roles, Adrian has reworked innovative tragic comedy Philadelphia Here I Come with its writer, Brian Friel, and directed the subsequent production of the play. In June 2009, he was awarded an honorary degree - Doctor of Letters - from the University of Ulster for his work as an actor. |
