After graduating the Camera Department of the Film School in Bucharest, Alexandru Solomon started making documentaries in 1993, while working as DoP for fiction films. In 2001 he followed training through the Discovery Campus Masterschool and the project that resulted was the Great Communist Bank Robbery. Since 2004 he have been developing projects with his wife, Ada Solomon, through Hi-Film Productions. Alexandru has directed more than a dozen documentaries and photographed most of them. His films are always mixed genres, as he states, “using my visual and experimental skills”. They have been screened and awarded in festivals around Europe and the US. He's been teaching at the Film School at the Arts Academy in Bucharest and he is a member of the European Documentary Network. |
